When is it viral?

by Joe Doyle on August 14, 2007

Recently Stalelife Studios created a viral video for a leading apartment finding service. Normally I’ll mention client names and give them kudos, but this project was FUBAR from the beginning. No matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t get them to understand how the format works.

A viral video is something that is funny, or well received. People watch it and pass it to their friends.

Like this video – originally it was just an funny upload at YouTube. But then McD’s found it (or it was originally created by the agency), they bought it and slapped some appropriate logos in it. Viral done right (and capitalized upon). Outside Wrigley Field, for all those who don’t know.
