I’ve been thinking about this post I’d love to write about the fantastic long weekend we had out in San Angelo, but I’m more time starved than usual.
Katie fell sick (flu) on Saturday, followed by PJ on Monday and Dad on Tuesday. And the ‘lil girl is still sick - we all are. Even Grandma Karen fell ill (sorry!).
Needless to say I get to work when the kids are sleeping, I haven’t really eaten in three days and I have to keep this short because I’ll probably pass out soon.
• Three days.
• Two Colts games (one winner – a true pitching gem).
• Lots of real swimmin’ pool time - the kids dig it and PJ even likes to be on his belly.
• 50 miles of singletrack in two days – one with a hammer I used to race in the TMBRA series. SS 29er felt great and I kept up well for a guy with zero resemblance of race shape.
• Pathfinder got 21 MPG – don’t know why that’s important, but there it is.
• Grandma and Grandpa spoiled the twins with love, and us with good eats and convo (and love, too).

Katie at La Cabana on Rt 71 - the friendliest staff ever. Food was good, too. I tried Tacos el Pastor and found a new fav.

Patrick smiled at the right time. He loved hanging out with Gus, the Rancher (sitting next to us).

Ken Franz is the everything guy for the Colts. Super nice fella, and a good Harry Caray impression (SOX Harry, not when he was with those other guys).

Not part of the trip, but wanted to show y’all what Texas lawn weeds look like when they are allowed to grow.
Last anecdote – I wrote some twin observations a couple posts ago and had a new one happen today. Katie pushed PJ out of the way as he was having fun with the humidifier button. He didn’t like it, so he punched her in the face (seriously). She turned around and bit him – left a sizable mark and everything. This is just a phase, right?

Here on The Internets, we call that “YouTube Gold.”
LOL, for certain. There are so many times I wish I had a DV camera for a hand.
Joe,
Remember when you were little and you caused trouble and what was it that your parents always wished for when you had kids? It’s not a phase . . . it’s payback.
Hi Anne! Great to see your name.
You’re right – payback is a motha. Hope you and Tim are doing well.

i’ve found biting is a phase, but beating the heck out of each other… if it is a phase it’s a very very long one.
That’s funny because my sister and I never beat on each other.
Wait, yes we did.
Well I never!
As an only child…I would beat on myself. In fact, my imaginary friend was Tyler Durden.
They are SO cute! And it sounds like a great long weekend in SA, minus the flu, that’sa no good.
But if you are waiting for a phase…wait for the ballsack punching phase…that’ll be fun. I’ll send you a cup.
So, will they be punching mine, or PJs?
I’ll be punching yours.
You’ll have to catch me first, and you’re a NEW dad.
Advantage me.
