Vote for Traditional!

by Joe Doyle on February 5, 2008

I need your help and it doesn’t matter where you live.

Texas is choosing new license plates effective 2009 and, well, all the designs besides the one I like just suck. Help me beautify Texas vehicles, will ya?

Back in the day plates were simple, the colors bold and strong. I like this one.

Yes, the Texas countryside is gorgeous – prettiest I’ve ever seen. But what will this look like in person?

Is this 1985 and am I lost in a Leroy Nieman poster?

I think that’s Houston, and I hear it sucks.

The only thing missing from the current plate is a six shooter.
8K votes to date (why include it if the reason for a re-design is running out of number combos for this plate?)

Vote. Tell your friends. Vote. Choose Traditional!

I was torn between ‘Traditional’ and ‘New Texas’ (the Houston skyline). I went w/ ‘New Texas’ because I liked the boldness of Texas flag, it reminded me of the current ‘State of the Arts’ plate. For the life of me I can’t see the appeal of current front-runner, ‘Lone Star Texas’ - the one you say is reminiscent Leroy Nieman poster. Nearly twice as many as the second in line (the wildflowers). Bah! No sense of design, these voters.

Now that you bring it up, we don’t have to settle for any of these options. There are 100s of specialty plates to choose from.

Of course, at a $30 annual charge. I like the Arts one as well.
