Thank you for supporting LIVESTRONG

My friends and family are amazing. To know that you have the desire to empower people affected by cancer means quite a bit to me.

885135929_ggu3c-xl The day was wonderful. Hot and dry - the course was loose and fast. I enjoyed a call up in front of the whole SS class. Those who weren’t listening in the cattle chute said “why is he going up there” and “who’s that guy”? I quickly let them know it was because I helped raise fund for LIVESTRONG and that was all they needed.

885712863_fzgoh-xlIt’s not about the race, but I finished 23rd out of 42. I shaved six minutes off my fall time on the same course, albeit the terrain was very wet last year. The images in this post are free from Ingot Imaging, but here are some great shots of me from Liz Keutz, too. Who knew I smiled so much while in pain?

The staff from LIVESTRONG was extremely nice. If you ever get the opportunity to be a part of their micro-donation grassroots effort, you should give it a thought. The barrier to entry is low, and the perks are high. All told, the LIVESTRONG racers at the Mellow Classic raised over $27,000.

Live strong, friends. Thanks again.

Mr Doyle

I found you thru Google. Interesting that 2 people who don’t know each other but share the same name have similar interests. I just finished my 7th Pan Mass Challenge in Massachusetts. It is a 2 day 175 mile bike ride and fund raiser for cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC will raise $31M this year alone thru the efforts of almost 5000 riders. Their 31 year total is over $300M

Best of luck

Hi Joe!

Man, there are a lot of us out there, eh? And cyclists to boot. I should start a survey on the site to see who has all the same interests! If you tell me you’re a diehard baseball and hockey fan, too, I’ll fall over.

Dana Farber is an amazing place for cancer care and research. I work for a healthcare advertising agency (HCBhealth.com), and one of our clients is a major, nationwide cancer care organization. So I guess we share another passion, too.

I can’t believe how much the riders raise. That’s incredible and almost seems impossible. It’s on the Livestrong level, but without the star support or recognition. Crazy.

I wish you well, Joe Doyle. Keep the rubber side down and keep on keepin’ on. If you find yourself in Austin, send a note.

Joe
