Christmas haiku

by Joe Doyle on December 25, 2008

Travel makes you wise
Presents bring you much joy
Love is all you need

Christmas Eve as a kid was filled with lots of family running about, too much food and Bailey’s on the rocks. Christmas Day was loads of presents and the most relaxing day of the year.

While the holidays always bring about sweet memories of traditions old, I love the new ones my family creates. The kids have their cousins and the terrain has no snow. As we make our future together, I hope that their memories are just as wonderful as mine.

From my family to you and yours – love, peace and Merry Christmas.

And we concur.
We all have a lot to be thankful for this year.

Cheers!

Two videos for Tuesday

by Joe Doyle on November 25, 2008

First up is a video of the twins getting their hairs cut. It was kind of lackluster – I guess I was expecting a lot of crying and fits. The cuts were relatively easy on us, but not the pocketbook. Need to find a new place - The Hair’s Lair charges more than Birds Barbershop on Burnet.

My favorite parts of the video are PJ’s face when he gets sprayed with water and Katie starting to chair dance near the very end.

Second video is of my friend, Rebecca Much. I knew her when she was a junior racing on xXx in Chicago. She’s U.S. National champion (several times over) and won silver in the Worlds competition for time trial. In other words, she’s a hammer.

And a super nice person.

She needs our help, so please watch this video below and go to this website to rate her video five stars. She’s doing her part and telling her story on why the 2016 Olympics should be in Chicago. And as an Olympic-level athlete, I think she makes the most sense to be the winner.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends.
