Two videos for Tuesday

by Joe Doyle on November 25, 2008

First up is a video of the twins getting their hairs cut. It was kind of lackluster – I guess I was expecting a lot of crying and fits. The cuts were relatively easy on us, but not the pocketbook. Need to find a new place - The Hair’s Lair charges more than Birds Barbershop on Burnet.

My favorite parts of the video are PJ’s face when he gets sprayed with water and Katie starting to chair dance near the very end.

Second video is of my friend, Rebecca Much. I knew her when she was a junior racing on xXx in Chicago. She’s U.S. National champion (several times over) and won silver in the Worlds competition for time trial. In other words, she’s a hammer.

And a super nice person.

She needs our help, so please watch this video below and go to this website to rate her video five stars. She’s doing her part and telling her story on why the 2016 Olympics should be in Chicago. And as an Olympic-level athlete, I think she makes the most sense to be the winner.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends.

“Yeah, but you should see the other guy.”

by Joe Doyle on November 5, 2008

Patrick took part in his first fist fight today. Apparently one of the kids at day camp made a move on his sister, so he decked the kid in the face. Much to his dismay, the kid was scrappy and he popped back up in time to land a good one in the kisser before Ms. Bertha could split them up.

OR, he was playing trucks, slipped and fell and cut that little skin flap that goes from your lip to your gum. Ouch.

Doctor tomorrow. Me wonders…how many times will he my boy have a fat lip in his life? Other than pouting that is.

Official school pictures of Katie and Patrick

by Joe Doyle on October 29, 2008

These came today. We were completely surprised as we forgot all about their school pictures until after it happened. Since we’re not big on the style, we didn’t give a second thought to it.

But luckily for us, we dressed them in nice duds on this day. We even put Katie into an original dress from Grandma Karen by coincidence. Love that. Too bad we didn’t get to haircuts or even a brushing.

Normally I’m not a fan of the staged shots – I like to see lifestyle photography. But they did a nice job so we bought a few. Racket.

If you want these in hi-res to print at your local print place, let me know. RITZ online is where I go. I think they’re the best and highly recommend them. I pick mine up local, but they will mail images to you as well.

On a side note, they say the blog is dead, and truth be told it’s been hard to find time to keep up with my online social commitments. Lots to do around the house and for Stalelife. We’re rocking the new bids right now - wish us luck!
