whomever you are, the kind soul who sent this cool poster to Katie and Patrick.

We think they like it and it’ll look smashing on their wall.

We had some time to kill before Stacey got home – she was caught up by a demonstration at the Capital. So the kids, Molly and I headed for the park.
We’re just getting used to having them outdoors. They still eat everything, so it’s a constant barrage of “don’t put that in your mouth” and “yuckies”. Maybe we’re too protective or something, but they are finally catching on. I hope they end up loving the outdoors as much as me.
Here a few shots from the camera phone. The rest can be found on the Flickr account.

Everyone loved Katie’s dress and bloomers.

Patrick was into the grass and swings.

She always has to see what he has. Most times she’ll take it from him.

We weren’t on the ground 5 minutes before the neighborhood girls came by. Funny how little girls love babies.
Grandma Jean decided to venture south for some alone time with the twins this past weekend. Help was what I needed – especially with Stacey on the Goeres’ Girls annual trip.
I’m pretty sure I was around to witness similar care-taking events, but for some reason I don’t remember them. Feeding, reading, changing, swimming and chatting – those kids kept Gma Jean on the go.
Saturday opened with a sick girl, followed by ugly weather on Sunday. Monday came and the boy was pukey, which ran over into today and likely tomorrow. A bug. Viral and shared – those kids play so nice.
Thanks for all the help, Grandma Jean. We hope you don’t get sick from your grandkids.
At almost 11.5 months, the kids weigh:
21lbs, 11oz – Patrick
19lbs, 5oz – Katie Bing

PJ and Katie don’t want for much. Wagons, red rockets, clothes, walking toys, tricycles, SOX hats, books – friends and family are very generous to say the least.
My mom is in town for a visit this weekend, and she continued the trend with mink teddy bears.
My mom’s mom, Grandma Heramb, is a person I always wish I would have met – she died when my mom was a teenager. The stories I hear about her make me think I would have loved her company. When she passed, the four Heramb girls received bits and pieces of her wardrobe and jewelry chest.
Mom got the mink stole, and for years it sat in storage until she had it made into bears for the kids.
If you know me, you know I like the idea or re-purposing things – especially something as extravagant as a fur.
We’re humbled by the sentiment and generosity of these bears, and I know they’ll be a part of this family for generations to come.
Thanks Mom and Dad, and for that matter, Grandma Heramb.
