Wow, what a tremendous couple of weeks. SXSW hit Austin and the creative luv was everywhere. It was beautiful to say the least.
If you don’t know SXSW (South by Southwest), it’s a film, music and interactive festival that lasts about two weeks. All of the recording and film labels are in town, along with actors and about 1200 bands. You could be walking next to an aspiring director one day, and chatting up a new act out of the Bronx on the next.
Kurt came down for a Stalelife Studios meeting by day, FREE bands and beer by afternoon week. Our good friend Jeff came down, too:
Every day we worked and then figured out the best acts to see. This band was killa – Oxford Collapse (my favorite show and a gorgeous day):
These guys ruled, too. Super nice, we talked with them before and after the gig. Apostle of Hustle (they’re coming to Wisco and Chicago in April):
Another day we decided to catch a few shows and finish with Bob Mould. Here he is just walking around the streets, no big deal:
After he rocked out he was nice enough to hang for a pic and some convo. That’s Kirsten and Kurt and me with Bob:

Leslie the tranny was out in full force, too. I first saw him in 2001 at the Ride for the Roses. Well he didn’t disappoint this year, and at one time during the trip we thought he was stalking Jeff.
More to come…

Dude! The Mohawk is a killer place to hang during SXSW. Loved the outdoors and the fact that you coulg hear the band and chat up with someone on the upper deck.
Awesome time.
Ahhh, sunny days on a rooftop beer garden lounging on a sofa.
That’s livin.
