Rest in peace, Uncle Cy

by Joe Doyle on March 23, 2008

Growing up I had over twenty first cousins, but Billy Doyle and I seemed to have a special bond. We were close in age and in the same grade, and for quite a while we were the only two Doyle boys.

We were frequently around Billy’s family, my aunt Donna’s side. She had a few brothers who we called uncle, and who treated us like we were just supposed to be there. On Easter one of them passed and it saddens me, because he was such a great guy to us.

God’s speed, Uncle Cy.

And to all the Strezos who are filled with heartache and pain, I wish you my best in this time of need.

News surrounding crappy insurance care for uncle Cy. What a horrible thing to deal with.

Some of you may know Cy’s son – he’s an Executive Producer for SCORE radio.

Uncle Cy was a great man! Gregarious and someone that had a great presence. He has always made us feel comfortable and made holidays fun with the jokes and stories! My thoughts and prayers are with Billy, Aunt Donna, Uncle Dave and all the Strezos. Kelly

Aunt Donna mentioned (in passing to Uncle John recently) how Cy always gave and gave to people. Even in his death he’s giving to people, as they created a new bill because of his plight.

Remember how he’d always boast about the Packers? I don’t know why, but he was a lifelong Green Bay fan. Sox, too. At least one outta two ain’t bad.

My condolences - the insurance read is stifling…my regrets.

Be well!
