Change is good!
18 months and 305 posts after the launch of joedoyle.com (the blog), I’ve decided to switch things up a bit. My friend Patrick helped with the previous version, so I convinced him to team up again. He’s got a great pulse on self-authoring platforms and is just as curious about social networking as I am. You should hire him.
Today’s design is based on the Thesis theme for WordPress from DIY Themes. If you read my entries from the source (instead of an RSS reader), you’ve likely noticed the Theme was installed while we modified it.
Thesis is really flexible. It’s also a unique open source system, whereby the Thesis community shares code and modification ideas. And the template creator is also easy-to-reach for programming issues and upgrades – I dig that.
The site’s not super fancy, but I can modify backgrounds and images pretty regularly to re-fresh it. Right now I’m serving up the Stalelife screen saver as my background - my homepage blends right into my desktop when opened in a browser window.
You’ll also notice an few new pages, including a Portfolio. It, too, will likely change soon – Stalelife has been busy as ever with some really great work.
I’ve linked my other social networking sites for images, movies, my professional profile and reviews. Plus now you can gauge my writing topics at-a-glance by taking a gander at my Tags.
Content will remain the normal day-to-day drivel – I’m blogging more industry-based articles over at The Sweetspot (the Stalelife blog). But you can expect me write about cycling, weird crap in Austin, the Sox and Bears and, naturally, the cutest twins in the world.
Have a great finish to your day, and thanks for reading.
