Da Bears (part two)
PJ and Katie don’t want for much. Wagons, red rockets, clothes, walking toys, tricycles, SOX hats, books – friends and family are very generous to say the least.
My mom is in town for a visit this weekend, and she continued the trend with mink teddy bears.
My mom’s mom, Grandma Heramb, is a person I always wish I would have met - she died when my mom was a teenager. The stories I hear about her make me think I would have loved her company. When she passed, the four Heramb girls received bits and pieces of her wardrobe and jewelry chest.
Mom got the mink stole, and for years it sat in storage until she had it made into bears for the kids.
If you know me, you know I like the idea or re-purposing things – especially something as extravagant as a fur.
We’re humbled by the sentiment and generosity of these bears, and I know they’ll be a part of this family for generations to come.
Thanks Mom and Dad, and for that matter, Grandma Heramb.

Ditka.
After this photo was taken, da coach allegedly beat down the unruly fan.
“He kept asking me to play catcher for the Cubs,” said Ditka.
“I asked him about that Soda guy. He’s good, right? Then he tried to compare playing catcher to tight end, and, well, that’s when we came to blows.”
“I think he might have wanted me, you know those Cubs fans,” said a perturbed Ditka.
