I heart hockey

by Joe Doyle on February 12, 2008

When I wake up on Tuesdays, all I think about is hockey. I don’t shave, because hockey players don’t shave. I make sure my stinky gear is clean and I think about all the fun I’ll have tonight with my hockey friends – we taunt the hell out of each other.

Did you see the video of Richard Zednik’s neck being slashed by a skate? Not for the weak of heart. And even though I play on inline skates, this incident reminds me I want to order one of these. I currently use a half shield.

Check it out, I’m in the top ten for scoring this pre-season. Most penalty minutes, too (nothing to brag about).

You didn’t vote, did you?

And now that uggo piece of metal will be part of my daily life. Thanks.

Austin randoms

by Joe Doyle on February 11, 2008

A few shots from my yard and the neighborhood taken this weekend. The quality is rough (from my 2.0 mega pixel Sony Ericsson phone).

I hope these blue lines turn white. They are popping up all over Crestview, on streets that could use bike lanes. Anyone know about this?

Pretty little Daffodil, you’ve been duped.

Out of my moonroof, the corner of Anderson and Burnet (but just like every other corner this time of year). Grackles, Scissortails, black birds and dirty windshields. Karmalized Kristin beat me to the punch with a similar capture.

No joke, I took this last night. Feb 10th, people. Seriously.
