“I’ve been inclined…

to believe it never would.”

Neil’s spreading word the Sweet Caroline was written for Caroline Kennedy of the East Coast Kennedys. He drew inspiration from a published newspaper photo of young Ms Kennedy next to her pony (and wrote the tune years later).

But to me his lyrics are of a romantic nature. A man in a blossoming adult-type relationship.

It’s weird either way.

Oh, and if ole Diamond wanted to find the most befitting home for that tune, he’d have hung out at Hinky Dinks on 111th. That song played at least five times per night.

Monday a. + b.

by Joe Doyle on November 19, 2007

Twelve bags later
the leaves still fall.
They hit my window
and tease.

When will it end?
When does it ever?
Work is only over when
you
are.

Friday (bike) Blog Roll

by Joe Doyle on November 16, 2007

Retrospective that I quite enjoyed.

Win, and we’ll give you the golden speedo.

That’ll teach you to mess with cyclists. Or will it?

Wait a minute… it’s against the law to make sweet love to your bicycle? No way.

I might have to take this midnight cruise on Saturday night. The Moonlight Towers are famous here in Austin, and I’ve been dying to see them all.

Have great weekend, y’all.
