Smarter than Cubs fans.

by Joe Doyle on June 22, 2007

Katie and PJ are five weeks old and (being born into a White Sox lineage) they are already smarter than all Cubs fans combined.

It’s true.

Sox fans just know baseball. Cubs fans know a big beer garden placed strategically close to the Pride Parade.

If you’re itching (ahem, grandparents), you can go here for new images of the kids. Be forewarned, there are some baby nudes. I kinda freaked some people out with surgery shots a couple rounds back…

Go SOX! Beat them cubbies! If you don’t, Dad’s gonna owe Cacciabondo a case of beer!

Cashed in.

For Father’s Day I got three of these ^

One for a MTB ride.
One for a road ride.
And one for hockey.

With twins it’s doubly as hard to get away. Daily tasks, like grocery gettin’, become an event. Personal care and exercise takes the back seat, so this gift was very welcomed.

Last night I spent two hours at the ole ‘Nut. I followed a friendly group around and they led me to some hidden trail gems. “Endo Alley” was quite cool – straight down, all loose rock and huge boulders. Challenging.

Most of all it was nice to break a good sweat and get my heart rate above “sofa loafing” for once.

Thanks for the gift, Mrs. Doyle (and twins).

“24 Solo” review

Racing for 24-hours (solo) is an amazing accomplishment. Being the fastest 24 specialist in the world is even crazier.

It’s no surprise the content would be a good story to a cyclist. But I think my sister and wife enjoyed it, too.

At times I thought “24 Solo” was too basic. Throw in the up-tempo jazz (intended for trainer riders) and I felt the producers crammed too many objectives into one DVD box.

That and the director watches too much “Cyclysm Sunday” on VS. Talk about bad music.

Cinematography was great – some unique zip-line camera work and a fast helmet cam guy that added great depth to the story. Company was even better – a good time had by all on Father’s Day.
