Rockin in the FREE world

by Joe Doyle on March 29, 2007

Some people ask me, “Joe, where do you find out about all the cool new music?”

Well, I’m pretty lucky. My Stalelife Studios Komrad, Kurt is always up with the latest. And he listens to WOXY.com, independent internet radio.

Kurt got to meet Mike Taylor, Program Director, at a WOXY party at SXSW. Good times:

Dial in. Hear good tunes. Impress your friends with solid recommendations. Word up.

Week 32 (or T-minus 65 days).

by Joe Doyle on March 27, 2007

It’s close. Real close. In fact, the pregnancy calendar this week illustrates what to pack in your suitcase.

Damn, that’s close.

Final preparations coming into play. Classes on LeMans (you want ‘em out fast, right?). House getting painted. New sod installed. Lots of back-breaking yard work. Classes on baby CPR. Lots.

Stacey had a shower two weeks back thrown by Joe and Margaret Udell. Nice to have a good network of friends here in Austin. She also had a work shower. We’re truly humbled by the generosity thrown our way. Heck, we may even have enough for a decent jogger.

Stacey just joined M.O.M. (Mothers of Multiples). She got some pretty good advice on feeding and direction on nanny finding.

Week: 32
Pre-born size: 16 in., almost 4 lbs each.
Development: The rug rats are getting into position for birth (head down), at least they better be. All five senses are developed, as well as full hair and nails. Week 32 for a M.O.M. is like week 40 for a single.
Belly: Stacey looks especially cute in her new dress, dontcha think? Gracie does.

SXSW rules, part deux.

by Joe Doyle on March 26, 2007

SXSW (South by Southwest) is all about expression. Music. Web. Film. People take interviews, snapshots and gather ideas at a rate of 2.5 BPM (billion per minute).

So that’s what we did, the boys. We took pictures, we talked to people about their band or ideas. We even had a little moment of self-serving creative:

“Oh wow, Tokyo Police Club are playing again. I hope we don’t miss em.”

celebrate
Phew. I finally heard Kurt’s calls for distress. And we celebrated.
