When did they start using sonograms? And how did our parents make it through a pregnancy without them?
Our tech said she’d been looking at these fuzzy images for 20 years. All I know is that they’re filled with important details.
Here’s what we got so far:
Two babies. Both healthy. Brains are developing nicely. All organs accounted for. Heart functioning. Diaphragm in place. Long femurs (yeah, buddy). All sizes well within the proper range. All good news. That’s all I remember, it was just amazing to see them. Twin B was sitting in Twin A’s lap.
Week: 23
Pre-born size: Twin A weighs 14 oz. Twin B weighs 17 oz.
Development: Both are very active and have functioning stomachs. Twin A’s heart clocked in at 122 BPM, Twin B was faster at 144 BPM.
Belly:
We’re gonna bypass belly pics for sonogram shots.
Click on the image to enlarge it.

Twin A is slightly smaller. Which is pretty perfect, since girls are supposed to be small.

Twin B is slightly larger. B must be for Bigger. And for Boy.

Here’s the girl on her side, looking at you.

And then the boy with the same side view.
Only 17 weeks to May 31st!

Wake up. Shower. Put on the Piccolo jersey. Da Bearssssssss. Ditka. Sausage. Go BEARSSSS! Oh man, this is gonna be a great game.
BABIES
Last night I felt the babies move for the first time. The quick thump on Stacey’s left side got me thinking that they’re probably trying to perfect their pedal stroke. Full circles, kids.
MY FRIEND IN IRAQ
I really hate this war. Probably because I’ve got a good friend protecting VIPs in the most volatile area of Fallujah. But today I got good news:
Classification: UNCLASSIFIED
Hey Joe,
It will be on AFN (Armed Forces Network) around 0230. I hope to watch some of it, but I don’t think I will be up that late/early. I did get to see the last game which was the first Bears game I watched all year. I should be back to Cali on Valentines Day and then back to Chicago around the first week in March. I’m closing in on the three week mark. Activity has picked up here for us over the last month. We had a few run ins with the bad guys. My guys are healthy, theirs aren’t. I hope to keep that up for a few more weeks. We’re being replaced by a good crew of guys. Tell Stacey I said hi. Paul.
GO BEARS!!!!
Come home safe, brother.
